Please note: The lecture is part of the master's degree programme "International Management" and can therefore only be attended by students registered for the particular programme. MCM students and Incoming exchange students are welcome, too.

Intendierte Lernergebnisse
Students are expected to gain a better understanding of and knowledge in entrepreneurship in general and international entrepreneurship in specific. Students will also learn about the impact of current trends such as digitisation and environmental and social sustainability on the phenomenon of (international) entrepreneurship. The lecture is a suitable basis for the sister course "Cases in International Entrepreneurship".

Lecture and interactive elements in the sessions dedicated to the exam preparation.

Chapter 1: Introduction to entrepreneurship (1. What is entrepreneurship? 2. Entrepreneurship in the light of the history of economic thought 3. Variety of entrepreneurs(hip) 4. Who is the entrepreneur? 5. Impact of entrepreneurs, incl. entrepreneurs for sustainability)
Chapter 2: The entrepreneurial process (1. Entrepreneurial team 2. Entrepreneurial process 3. Opportunity recognition 4. Resource mobilization 5. Developing a business model 6. Exit and lessons from failure)
Chapter 3: International entrepreneurship (1. Definition 2. Domestic vs. international entrepreneurship 3. Motivation to go global 4. The role of culture 5. Internationalization theories 6. Setting up an international venture, incl. entry modes)
