Intendierte Lernergebnisse
The learning outcome is to acquire the basics of aquatic and terrestrial ecohydrological transformation processes with special focus on how human and physical geographical processes affect ecosystems.
Students will learn the ecohydrological functioning of aquatic ecosystems (e.g. riparian vegetation, river ecology and morphology) and terrestrial ecosystems (e.g. water use by young and old forests and its link to climate).

Reading key literature in English (and German).
Searching of scientific papers and press news.
Round tables with the students and discussions in class/online guided by the lecturers.

This proseminar serves to prepare the excursion on terrestrial and aquatic ecohydrology in South Tyrol B 5.4 and is connected to the pro-seminar B 5.3.
Erwartete Vorkenntnisse
Good level of English (oral and written).

The basic literature is provided by the lecturers in Moodle.

Prüfungsmethode/n
Portfolio consists on:
-oral presentations (20%),
-handouts (20%),
-active individual participation (20%),
-test (40%).
All parts need to be positive.
Prüfungsinhalt/e
All the topics given in class are part of the test.
Beurteilungskriterien/-maßstäbe
Oral presentations: they need to cover the whole spectrum of one topic in the agreed time.
Handouts per topic.
Active individual participation during in class discussions.
All the parts need to be positive. 50% of the points needs to be achieved to pass the course.
