Intended learning outcomes

The objective of the bachelor seminar in marketing is to guide students in a way that will allow them to create a bachelor thesis of high quality that meets the principles of scientific writing.

Teaching methodology

The topic list for the current seminar will be presented during the preliminary discussion (date and room see course card in ZEUS).  At the beginning of each semester, a general topic is defined that acts as framework for the topic list and students individual topics. After the preliminary discussion, students should send a preference list containing three desired topics (from the topic list) to the lecturer. Alternatively, students can suggest their own topic (which should also be based on the presented general topic).

To take part in the seminar please sign up for the course through ZEUS and consider the terms of admission.

Generally, the bachelor thesis should be written individually. According to the relevant curriculum, students studying International Business Administration and students of International Business and Economics (IBEc) have to write their thesis in English whereas students studying Business Administration can choose between German and English and usually write in German.

The topic assignment list can be accessed through the related Moodle course.

The seminar also consists of a compulsory writing tutorial that was integrated into the course to improve the overall quality of the bachelor thesis. Provided that a tutorial will be financed in the summer term, it will be organized by the ScheibCenter and will offer tailored support in the preparation of the methodological part of the bachelor thesis. Details concerning the writing tutorial will be explained during the preliminary discussion (date and room see course card in ZEUS).

Terms of admission:

A maximum of 30 students are accepted to the course.
