LV-Beschreibung
Intendierte Lernergebnisse
Pervasive computing is the idea that day-to-day objects such as light bulbs, flower pots, coffee mugs, shoes, chairs, carpets, etc. can be embedded with microprocessors, thus allowing them to process and communicate data or information.
In this Research Project in Pervasive Computing course, the objective is to identify a research problem, design a practical solution, implement the solution as a prototype and demonstrate how the implemented solution solves the identified problem. Course participants can propose their own research ideas or choose from a few existing research problems that need solving.
Therefore, in this course, the goal is to acquire knowledge on a specific research topic in Pervasive Computing and get used to scientific writing. This means course participants get to:
- propose their topic/select from a list of topics,
- propose solution(s) to the selected topic, and
- write a comprehensive report on the chosen research topic.
Lehrmethodik
This course is project-based; therefore, no classes/lectures are involved. Course participants will agree on a meeting schedule with the course instructor. The schedule will detail:
- the scope of the project,
- the meeting frequency, and
- the expected deliverables.
There is also no examination for this course. This course will be graded based on the successful completion of all agreed deliverables per agreed timelines.
