Remarks (english)
In the spirit of truely reverting to on-campus teaching the lecture will not be recorded.
Attendance in the practice sessions is mandatory: You may miss a maximum of two practice sessions. Do note, however, that being absent will reduce the number of exercises you can tick in the checklists.
As from the third time missing you need to bring a doctor’s certificate; repeated absence or abortion of the course without excuse will result in negative grading (and consequently negative grading of Macroeconomics VC).

Teaching methodology
There are two parts - lectures and practice sessions. See the description in Moodle for details.
There is also a tutorial (no. 607.245) accompanying the courses. It serves the purpose of reviewing and discussing the lectures and getting some groundwork done for the exercises.

Prior knowledge expected
We expect you to have sufficient prior economics knowledge, at least to the extent of the Introduction to Economics StEOP and Economic Policy lectures.
Being familiar with the contents of Microeconomics VC makes it a lot easier.
And you will definitely need to remember the material covered in Methodology I: Mathematics and/or Methodology II: Statistics.
Literature
O. Blanchard (2017), Macroeconomics, Global Edition, 7th ed, Pearson.
O. Blanchard (2017), Macroeconomics, 7th ed, Pearson, may be used as well, as these two books effectively coincide.
Examination information
Examination methodology
All exams are planned to take place on campus.
Lectures: multiple choice online exam - 90 minutes time for 15 sections with 4 true/false statements each. Of the possible maximal 60 points you must reach at least 70% = 42 points for a positive grade on the lectures part.
Practice sessions: exercises (60% of exercises ticked, max 30 points - 15 to be positive) and a final exam (max 30 points - 15 to be positive); active participation in the discussion.
The two parts – lectures and practice sessions – each contribute 50% to the total grade.
Please note that both the successful completion of the practice sessions and the positive result from the multiple choice exam related to the lectures are necessary in order to complete the Macroeconomics VC successfully. If one of the two parts is not completed successfully Macroeconomics VC needs to be repeated altogether.
See description in Moodle for details, especiall regarding the practice sessions.
Examination topic(s)
The exam is based on the actual contents discussed in the lectures, the list in the description is, therefore, purely indicative.
The contents discussed may go beyond the material contained in the book indicated; additional material may be provided and may possibly deviate from the book.
There is, of course, also the possibility that not all chapters indicated will be discussed and would, therefore, not be relevant for the exam.
Also, more chapters than indicated at the outset may be discussed and will in this case be relevant for the exam.
