Course Information

Intended learning outcomes

This course deals with diversity and inclusion in the EFL classroom. Based on academic literature and real-life experience, students discuss and solve problems connected with EFL teaching in Austrian secondary schools. Furthermore, guidance is provided for lesson planning, material development, and reflection practices.

The first two class meetings will be held on campus. The rest of the meetings will probably be held online via Big Blue Button. Any changes will be announced in class beforehand.

Prior knowledge expected

PPS1 & Communicative Language Teaching in Practice 1

As preparation for the course, students are expected to read an introduction to PBL (based on Moust, Bouhujs, and Schmidt 2007) before the first class meeting, which will be sent out via email to all participants and is also available on Moodle.
