NoneExamination information
Modified examination information (exceptional COVID-19 provisions)
In the case of in-person exams being no longer feasible, the exam will be held as a ROPE exam. For ROPE exams a webcam, microphone, and device for scanning solutions (either a scanner or a cell phone) is required.
Examination methodology
The exam will be held in-person where possible, as a written exam. In the case of international students who cannot attend a written exam, alternative exam methods will be used. Calculators and written material or notes are not permitted.
Marks and results:
- Grade 5: Less than 50% (fail).
- Grade 4: Between 50% and 62.5%.
- Grade 3: Between 62.5% and 75%.
- Grade 2: Between 75% and 87.5%.
- Grade 1: Above 87.5% (pass with distinction).
Examination topic(s)
The exam will be based on the contents of the lectures of the course.
Assessment criteria / Standards of assessment for examinations
The exam will consist of:
- short questions, such as either multiple choice or numerical answers, which are usually more calculation based and require no showing of working out, and
- long questions, which involve writing a proof or step-by-step solutions where you show your working out.
The distribution of marks between these two types of questions will be approximately 50% each.
Exam dates:
- Monday 31 January 2022.
- Monday 14 March 2022.
- Monday 27 June 2022.
Further communications regarding the exams will be available via the Moodle course. If you are not enrolled and would like access to this information, please contact the lecturer via email.
