Course Information

Intended learning outcomes

This seminar works around the theme of "social, ethical and legal" (SEL) aspects of AI and Cybersecurity.  Building on the foundations laid in the respective course (SEL of AI and Cybersecurity, which runs as mandatory course for all MSc AI & Cyber students in the winter term, we will practice skills to identify SEL aspects in various case studies. 

The course will do this via exploring and practicing principles from responsible research and innovation. Initially the lecturers will introduce these skills and principles, and we will do individual, pair and/or group exercises to try them out..

Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

- explain the principles behind responsible research and innovation

- name and utilise skills underpinning responsible research and innovation

- apply these skills to a given case study in the context of AI and Cybersecurity.

Course content

Responsible research and innovation (skills and theory) with a particular focus on covering SEL aspects.

Prior knowledge expected

You should have successfully completed the SEL course (Social, Ethical and Legal Aspects of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity), or something equivalent.
