Studierende vertiefen die in der VO vermittelte theoretische Basis von HCI durch praktische Übungen.

- JAVA Swing als Beispielplattform zur Erstellung von graphischen User Interfaces (GUI)
- Human Computer Interaction (Mensch Computer Interaktion ) - Basiskonzepte, Theorien, Definitionen
- Der Computer als Werkzeug - Der Begriff des Werkzeuges, Historische Betrachtung, Relevanz für die Nutzung von Computern (bis hin zu mobilen Geräten)
- Der Mensch in der Rolle als Benutzer - Eigenschaften des Menschen, Fähigkeiten, Einschränkungen und deren Relevanz im Kontext der HCI
- Interface-Design Prinzipien - Von Charakteristiken der Interaktion mit Alltagsgeräten bis zur Interaktion zu Desktopcomputern, mobilen Geräten, smarten Umgebungen.
- Usability und User Experience - Vorgehensmodelle und Prozesse zur Verbesserung der Gebrauchstauglichkeit
- Informationsvisualisierung - Gegenüberstellung von textueller / abstrakter Information und bildlicher (graphischer) Information im Kontext der HCI
- HCI als Forschungsdisziplin - Methoden, theoretische Ansätze, Publikationsaspekte

JAVA Swing as an example platform for creating graphical user interfaces (GUI)
Human Computer Interaction - basic concepts, theories, definitions
The computer as a tool - the concept of tool, historical perspective, relevance for the use of computers (up to and including mobile devices)
A human in the role of a user - characteristics of a human, abilities, limitations and their relevance in the context of HCI
Interface design principles - from characteristics of interaction with everyday things to interaction with desktop computers, mobile devices, smart environments.
Usability and user experience - process models and processes to improve usability
HCI as a research discipline - methods, theoretical approaches, publication aspects
Latest developments - beyond the GUI: smart environments, brain computer interfaces, ...
