Intended learning outcomes
In this you will gain a fundamental understanding of good writing for any context and will learn how to use appropriate business tone in the document, discern between the different kinds of business correspondence to write effectively and efficiently. Through the practical knowledge, you will be able
- To write business reports, emails, proposals, business letters, and other business documents that are clear, concise and professional
- To understand and master the punctuation and spelling techniques needed
- To differentiate between British and American Business English
- To learn the formal language required for business communication.

Introducing Business Writing, Major Functions and Forms of Business Writing.
Business Writing Guidelines.
Business Emails, Letters, Documents, and Proposals: Cover Letters, Sale Letters, Inquiry, Order, Complaint Letters, etc.
Resumes & CVs.
Persuasive and Argumentative Business Writing.
Grammatical Review: Tenses, the Gerund- ING’ Form, Reported Speech, Countable & Uncountable, Active & Passive Voice, Prepositions, Conditional If etc.
Advanced Types of Business Writing: Business Summaries, Business Reports.
More Writing Tips: Compare-and-Contrast Paragraphs, Cause-and-Effect Paragraphs, Problem-Solution Paragraphs, Common Errors, Abbreviations.
