Inhalt/e
Canada is a very young nation, and as such its national literature could only be shaped and defined very late in its history. From Confederation in 1867 to the patriation of the Constitution in 1982, more than a hundred years would pass where Canadians were trying to come to terms with their very own cultural identity. In this course, we will have a look at several important texts of Canadian literature (aka CanLit) and situate them in their historical, social, and cultural contexts.
Literatur
All relevant literature will be made available on Moodle.
Students are expected to own at least a copy of the text they are presenting.
