Intendierte Lernergebnisse

Upon completion of the course, students should be able to:

- demonstrate knowledge of linguistic theory and linguistic concepts in general and in the context of semantics, pragmatics, text linguistics, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics and corpus linguistics

- demonstrate a competence in discussing, evaluating and independently analyzing major linguistic phenomena in the indicated areas; and

- demonstrate knowledge of the general global picture of the field of English linguistics.

Lecture course with practical parts requiring active student participation

Homework in the form of linguistic exercises

There will be a tutorial accompanying the lecture (Details to be announced during the first session)

Students must have successfully completed Introduction to Linguistics I.
