Intended learning outcomes
To understand the basics concepts about statistics.
To be able to apply statistical methods.
To understand statistical reasoning.
To use tools for statistical computations and for generating statistical diagrams; especially to use R for this purpose.
Teaching methodology including the use of eLearning tools
Students have to work on 5 problems each week on their own and present their solutions online via BigBlueButton. A microphone is needed for this purpose
Course content
Basic methods of probability theory and statistics. To collect data, calculate statistical figures and draw diagrams from it and interpret these figures and diagrams in the context of the data. To judge data by probability models.

- One-dimensional frequency distributions

- Two-dimensional descriptive statistics

Prior knowledge expected
Knowledge and skills in calculus at Matural level are required
