Intended learning outcomes
The course will introduce quantitative methods commonly used in Production and Operations Management. Simple Production problems will be introduced. Then inventory-routing problems in which production decisions are integrated with inventory (warehousing) and distribution planning decisions. Finally, a focus on Logistics problems will be proposed, with particular emphasis on last mile distribution systems. Concepts of workload balance, equity and collaboration will be introduced and discussed.

Prior knowledge expected
The students will be able to describe problems arising in the context of production and logistics. They will required to know mathematical models to describe these problems. They will know decision problems that can arise in prodcution, delivery and inventory contexts. They will develop basic mathematical modeling skills and know about quantitative approaches generally used in this field. They can be able to critically analyze some real example and case studies.
