Intended learning outcomes
Die Studierenden:
- lernen unterschiedliche Motive für M&A kennen,
- erkennen die Bedeutung von M&A für die Innovationsfähigkeit von Unternehmen,
- identifizieren Herausforderungen, die mit M&A aus Sicht des Innovationsmanagements verbunden sind,
- erkennen die Bedeutung von M&A für die Ressourcen-Orchestrierung in den involvierten Unternehmen,
- können konkrete M&A Fälle mit relevanter Theorie in Verbindung bringen und reflektieren.

Course content
Im Kurs werden unterschiedliche Fallstudien zum Thema Mergers and Acquisitions bearbeitet und hinsichtlich der Auswirkungen von M&A auf die Innovationsfähigkeit von Unternehmen untersucht.
Als Fallstudien werden Cases vom European Case Center herangezogen. Die Fallstudien werden anhand relevanter Theorien reflektiert.
Der CEO von Infineon Technologies, Dr. Ploss, wird über den jüngsten Merger Infineons im Jahr 2019 referieren und dabei auf strategische und taktische Überlegungen in der Auswahl, Vorbereitung und Durchführung derartiger Großprojekte sowie deren Bedeutung für die Innovationsfähigkeit von Infineon eingehen.

- Case Summaries (á 2Seiten) - Individualleistung
- Schriftliche Lösungsausarbeitung von 1 Fallstudie (ca. 7 Seiten) – Teamleistung (2-3 Personen je Team)
- Ausarbeitung einer Case Study Präsentation (15 min) – Gruppenleistung (2 Teams bilden eine Gruppe)
Assessment criteria / Standards of assessment for examinations
- Erfüllung der Anwesenheit
- 3 Case Summaries - individuell (á 10%): 30% der Note
- Ausarbeitung Fallstudien Lösung im Team: 40%
- Ausarbeitung einer Case Study Präsentation in der Gruppe: 30%
Alle drei Leistungsbereiche müssen für sich positiv beurteilt sein.
