Time and Process Oriented Information Systems

Processes have been successfully introduced for modeling dynamic phenomena in many areas like business, production, health care, etc. Many of these applications require to adequately deal with temporal aspects: from the modeling of temporal aspects like durations, temporal constraints and deadlines, different notions of correctness of process models with temporal constraints, to the computation of execution schedules for processes and support for adherence to temporal constraints at runtime with proactive time management. We present new approaches like temporal control structures and data oriented temporal constraints and their potential to overcome some limitations of current techniques.
