Title: | Remembrance culture in border regions – towards an inclusive, cross-border memory |
Description: | Memory needs to be fought over. The Carinthian border region has been the site of various far-reaching conflicts over the interpretation of historical events. In the past decades, nationalist and exclusionary discourses dominated. The workshop will present the results of a cross-border project, in which researchers, teachers and students in Austria and Slovenia worked together to develop more inclusive and cross-border suggestions for school lessons on historical-political education in the border region. |
