Titel: The Credibility of Physician Rating Websites: A SystematicLiterature Review
Beschreibung:

Due to societal, juridical and specific aspects with regard to the occupational group, advertising for physicians has been a challenging task. A feasible solution in this context could be the active utilization of physician rating websites (PRWs). Currently, however, it is not known how credible the available information on these online portals is. For this reason, our aim was to review current literature by focussing on the credibility of information delivered on PRWs. The literature review analysed studies relating subjective information and ratings on PRWs to alternative objective and subjective data sources and demonstrated mixed results, which can be useful from a physician’s point of view, to foster the usage of PRWs for eWoM purposes within the patient base of a physician. Thus, PRWs can be seen as means of legally accepted advertising for this specific occupational group in the long run.
