| Title: | Language Testing in Austria: Towards a Research Agenda. Introductory Note |
| Description: | This conference marks a decade of modern language testing in Austria. The first group of presentations describes developments at all level of the educational system ranging from elementary school to university level. The second group of presentations charts the language testing research territory by bringing together a considerable amount of research that has accompanied and followed national exam development and reform since 2007, thus testifying to the existence of an important and active language testing community in Austria. The presentation phase of the conference is followed by a workshop phase, in which the research that has been presented is viewed in relation to a framework of test validation and desiderata for further research are identified and discussed. The results of this phase will be formulated as a manifesto for future language testing research in Austria. |
