The contribution will take a look at epistemological and methodological differences of scientific disciplines with regard to two aspects:

  • What is needed to bridge the epistemological gap between natural sciences and social sciences/humanities? You may have noted, that I have put a question mark at the end of my title.
  • How can social sciences and humanities provide systematic and generalized however policy-relevant information at a global level?
