The use of ICT at work and its social impacts

Theubiquitous use of ICT is influencing our way of life, our social interactionsand communications. In my paper, I focus on working contexts. What I amparticularly curious about is the work of 'digicom-workers'. These are peoplewho deal with and communicate intensively with digital media in their workenvironment, e.g. software designers, communication consultants, entrepreneursor scientists. The smartphone, iPad and notebook are their virtual officesand their attendants throughout the day. Without digital media their work wouldoften be bereft of purpose.
