Titel: Results of a self-assessment tool in multidisciplinary cancer team meetings at a university hospital: potentials for quality improvement
Beschreibung:

In cancer research, quality development in multidisciplinary team (MDT or "tumour board") meetings have little attention in german-speaking countries, although they play a crucial role in cancer treatment. MDTs meetings should improve communication and decision-making between healthcare professionals regarding medication and therapy using a high range of financial, human and time resources.  Although there is much information about multidisciplinary teamwork, there is a lack of awareness about tumour boards' quality and clinical outcome, and evidence for their effectiveness is still missing. In this study, we report the results of a developed self-assessment tool (quality assessment framework) for tumour boards and assess the current situation of structures and processes to identify the potential for improvement in MDT meetings with a quantitative and qualitative survey.
