Titel: Postmigrant Contemporary Arts in the Alps-Adriatic Region. Perspectives-Reflections-Transformative Methods
Beschreibung:

In an effort to understand the complexity of migration dynamics and possible identities and life plans, research in the life plans and research since the 1990 have increasingly developed perspectives that point to alternative ways of thinking and reinterpret migration phenomena. By doing so, postmigrant positioning visible (e.g. Hybridity, transnationality, transculturality, or superdiversity) become visible that have remained invisible until now. Young people begin to tell their stories anew and creatively from the experience of migration. (cf. Ohnmacht/Yildiz 2021) In doing so, perspectives on experiences and perspectives of migration are opened up. In the process, postmigration can be understood as a basic experience (cf. Hoffmann-Nowotny, 1994: 388) and not as an exceptional, problematic and disruptive case (cf. Peterlini, 2016c: 227f.; cf. Krüger-Potratz 2016). The creative and transformative potential that migration can unfold is demonstrated by the example of Muslim youth, whose life worlds are characterized by multiple identities and the withdrawal of simple notions of national belonging, cultural attributions, or ethnic categories. Using participatory and performative approaches (cf. von Unger, 2014; Wulf/Zirfas, 2007), learning and life experiences as well as possibilities and limitations of participation are explored in the lecture. Young people aged 12-25 (Hurrelmann et al., 2019) develop rap songs (idea, writing the lyrics, performance) with subsequent narrative interviews, and are accompanied by professional rap musicians*, who themselves have a migration history. The presentation is dedicated to the questions of how young people move in their lifeworld, how they are conditioned by it and how they can, at the same time, help to shape it performatively, and which processes of negotiation, participation and social positioning become visible throughout this process.
