The offers up-to-date information on applications of PLC, statistical channel modeling, physical layer techniques(as filter bank modulation), MIMO PLC, narrow band and broadband PLC for smart grids including the use of PLC as a sensing technology for grid diagnostics.Recent ideas on the usage of machine learning in PLC are presented. Analogies and differences with wireless communications as well as possible new research directions are outlined.
