Titel: German academic self-regulation questionnaire (SRQ-A [G]) for adolescent students
Beschreibung: Deci and Ryan (e.g. 2002) differentiate motivational regulation styles by drawing a continuum from controlled to autonomous motivation (see figure 1). Ryan and Connell (1989) presented the academic self-regulation questionnaiere (SRQ-A) to measure the four regulation styles external, introjected, identified, and intrinsic. Müller, Hanfstingl, and Andreitz (2007) developed a German version of the scale (SRQ-A [G]) by adapting and translating some of Ryan and Connell‘s items and by adding new items. Based on the work of Vallerand et al. (1992) another item was developed. This poster demonstrates that the SRQ-A [G] fullfills measurement invariance in almost every part. From a teststatstical point of view the German Self-Regulation Questionnaire (SRQ-A [G]) is a reliable and consistent instrument that is able to measure four styles of motivational regulation basing on the self-determination theory by Deci and Ryan (2002). Measurement invariance is given in almost every part for sex and for age. The only constriction can be found at the level of intercept invariance. As can be seen in table 2, the inclusion of both the eleven-year-old students and the seventeen-year-old students impair the goodness-of-fit indices significantly. Table 3 illustrates that males show more intrinsic and females more identified regulation. Generally, younger students displayed slightly higher scores on the latent factors identified, introjected, and extrinsic regulation. The size of theses effects, however, is rather small.
