Titel: Why do we collaborate?
Beschreibung: I would like to express my interest in participating at the proposed workshop. During the past 6 years I have been working in the field of ELSA research in the framework of the Austrian Genome Programme (GEN-AU). On this occasion, I have gained profound experiences in carrying out empirical research scrutinising biomedical research and clinical practice. The focus of my work was on genetic testing. The framework in which my projects were (is) funded strongly encouraged not only to study genome research, but to seek collaboration with researchers and medical practitioners. In so doing, I gained experiences in building a working relationship with researchers and practitioners of genetic medicine. Additionally, I would like to mention that I have reflected on the interaction with biomedical experts during the research process. Recently I have successfully applied for a research grant which allows me to study the mentioned issues in greater detail. Therefore, I aim to expand academic exchange on the topic with colleagues who I share this research interest with. I see the proposed workshop as an excellent opportunity for doing so and hope I can contribute to this event.
