Title: The Contextualisation of Prenatal Testing and Newborn Screening
Description: In this paper we will argue for the siginificance of the frameworks of application in which both prenatal testing and newborn screening is ebedded. The so called Mutter-Kind-Pass was introduced in order to provide a comprehendive preventive reproductive care programme. Newborn screening is contextualised in this framework if however formaly part of the programme. This creates specific difficulties for the parents and also for the medical staff to differentiate between these two forms of examinations. Furthermore we will discuss the implications of the described organisational framework for the introduction of Tandem Mass Spektrometry.
