Title: Parliaments – Interests – Convictions. European Trajectories in the Late 17th–Mid 19th Centuries
Description:

The Papers presented at theconference discuss aspects of parliamentary culture in the last century of ancienrégime in continental Europe, when in certain countries the estatespossessed more substantial political powers than elsewhere – like the sejm inPoland, the Diet in Hungary or the Riksdag in Sweden in the Age ofLiberty. The conference is based on the assumption that it may be interestingto confront certain elements of political culture in these countries tocorresponding features in other countries and see how various configurationsare linked to different political systems. Particular emphasis is placed onmotivations and on communication.
