Title: Workshop: Genetic Testing
Description: The workshop brings together perspectives on the implementation of genetic testing. In particular recent dynamics in referral practice will be addressed as well as European developments. Furthermore ethical perspectives and implications for health care policy will be debated. A specific focus of the workshop will be on newborn screening and the introduction of tandem-mass-spectrometry and protein based testing. Implications of newborn screening for reproductive choices are another issue of discussion. Finally the workshop will explore the role of public engagement into the deliberation of genetic testing. The workshops will be of interest to all those carrying out research on ethical, legal and social aspects of genetic testing.
