Editorial

This first issue of Educational Action Research in volume 2017 has three parts. The first includes two literature review articles, one on action research in higher education and the second one on action research encountering ethical review. This is followed by five papers reporting on the conduct of action research, four of which refer to Action Research in relation to Higher Education the other to action research undertaken in school. In the third part of this the reader will find a new development for the journal.  In the past we have limited special collections of articles to either entire special issues, or to ongoing themes, such the publication of a series of review articles, the latest of which are published as the opening pair of articles in this issue.  This issue publishes a theme as a collection within an issue.  This theme is around a group of articles which are contributions on clinical research.
