Psychodrama around the world

My story with psychodrama started forty years ago. I participated in an international summer academy with self-experience about peace and violence. Klaus Ottomeyer and Maria Schönherr conducted the week with psychodrama. It was part of the Austrian Institute for Peace Research and Peace Education at the castle Schlaining. As a psychology student, I got an early glimpse into psychodrama and the research field. The participants were asked to write about their experience and comment on the first draft of the results in a kind of communicative evaluation.

The topic of death and dying was part of that academy. Helmut Lessing, a guest presenter from Berlin, joined us for one unit. He was suffering from cancer and died a few months later. It was planned that he would be the co-supervisor of my dissertation, but it was not meant to be. It reminded me of my father´s cancer death four years before.

This was the beginning of my journey with psychodrama. In the photo, you will see me at the Sao Paulo Congress of the International Association for Group Psychotherapy and  Group Processes (IAGP) promoting the Moreno House project (www.morenomuseum.org ). Somehow, around the world.
