Title: Patient satisfaction with the primary care physician and usage of physician rating websites: how do they relate to each other?
Subtitle:
Abstract:

There has been an increasing interest in measuring quality of care delivered by the primary care physician (PCP) from the patients’ perspective. At the same time, usage of physician rating websites (PRWs) is on the rise, but too little attention has been paid to connecting the two. Thus, the author investigates how users and nonusers of PRWs differ with regard to patient satisfaction with their PCP and other focus variables. The results show clear differences between users and nonusers also in terms of patient satisfaction. Several possible implications for the theory and practice of a physician’s communication management are discussed.
