Title: Aussprache und Ausspracheunterricht messen: vom Effekt dramapädagogischer Mittel im Ausspracheunterricht DaF

With various teaching approaches available, how does one identify the best? This doctoral thesis reports on an attempt to conduct a controlled experimental study that compared the effectiveness of a conventional approach to teaching the pronunciation of German with an approach that incorporated elements of Drama in Education. Both quantitative and qualitative data obtained in the study are inconclusive and call the feasibility of an experimental approach to language teaching research into question.
