Kurzfassung: | The efficient management of intellectual capital (IC) is an important task for dynamic and complex organisational environments for a sustainable growth and development of a company and its specific departments. The core processes of knowledge management are needed to further develop IC. Multidisciplinary knowledge has to be transferred, discussed, distributed and recombined to create new, creative and innovative ideas. To facilitate these core processes of Knowledge Management organisational structures assist whereby corporate knowledge networks become increasingly important. Knowledge networks, within an organisation or across organisational borders, offer a high potential to achieve competitive advantages through the generation, transfer and use of relevant intangible assets. In these corporate networks knowledge can be connected, combined, analysed and reconstructed in order to improve and optimise business processes, products and services. The development of successful intra- or extra-organisational networks is a challenge which has to be supported by an appropriate contextual framework of guidelines, regulations and a set of conditions to stimulate knowledge sharing and development. The success or failure of extra- and interorganisational networks is dependent on the quality, adaptability and applicability of Network Management methods according to the specific needs and conditions within the network. Leadership plays an important role to achieve business excellent results within the network. Business-excellent Network Management can be supported by methods and concepts of Knowledge Management on a strategic and operative level. The article focuses on the connections and synergies between Knowledge Management, the management of corporate networks and the concept of Business Excellence. Regarding potentials, challenges and concepts will be investigated which are aiming to increase intellectual capital. |
