Tales of the End: The Impact of Extinction Narratives
Description:

FWF proposal for a CEUS project that is interested in various kinds of extinction narratives (human-centered, non-human centered, and others); their emotional impact (e.g., how they stimulate empathy and compassion); their attitudinal impact (how they influence attitudes toward endangered species and conservationist efforts); their behavioral impact (how they impact willingness to donate and other behavior with the intention to save); and how these effects are influenced by the species, gender, ethnicity, and number of the prota­gonists in­clu­ded in extinction narratives as well as the medium and cultural context of their reception.
