Reliably Assessing Relationship Quality...

A large body of research shows the enormous impact of happy relationships on psychological and physical well-being. On an international scale, it is important to have reliable, valid, and comparable measures across different cultural settings and languages. The Perceived Relationship Quality Components Inventory (PRQC; Fletcher et al., 2000) and the Couples Satisfaction Index (CSI; Funk & Rogge, 2007) are widely used measures of relationship satisfaction and quality in the English-speaking world. Although these measures have been in use for years, there are still no psychometrically evaluated German translations for both these instruments. Therefore, this study aims at psychometrically evaluating the German translations of the PRQC and the CSI in the three German-speaking countries Switzerland, Austria, and Germany.
