Susaki Erasmus Intensive Program
Description: Es handelt sich um einen elf-tägigen Feldaufenthalt auf der griechischen Insel Samothraki mit dem Ziel, sozialökologische Zugänge in einem lokalen Setting zu erproben und eine Synergie mit dem im Gang befindlichen Prozess der Aufnahme der Insel in das Weltnetzwerk der UNESCO-Biosphärenreservate herzustellen. Ziele des Kurses sind: a) die Studenten in eine Suche nach nachhaltigen Lösungen in einem lokalen Setting unter Anwendung sozialökologischer Konzepte einzubeziehen, b) sie in einer Anzahl von sozial- und naturwissenschaftlichen Methoden, die in der sozialeökologischen Forschung gebräuchlich sind, auch praktisch einzuüben und c) Studenten die Erfahrung machen zu lassen, wie man in einem transdisziplinären Prozess mit Angehörigen einer anderen Kultur und Sprache erfolgreich interagieren kann. Die Exkursion findet im Mai 2014 mit Studierenden von 5 verschiedenen europäischen Universitäten statt.

Susaki Erasmus Intensive Program
Description: The course is designed as a nine days excursion to the island of Samothraki in Greece with the aim to learn and apply social ecology approaches in a local setting while building synergy with an on-going UNESCO Man and Biosphere process. The objectives of the course are: (a) expose students to a search for solutions for sustainability and development challenges in a local setting by applying socioecological thinking, (b) be trained in a set of social science and natural science methods frequently used in socioecological research , and (c) allow students the experience of a transdisciplinary research process by learning to interact with stakeholders in a culturally challenging environment (translation will be provided by locals as far as required). The course will take place in May 2014 with students from 4 different universities.
