Conditions for Cooperation Between Cooperatives and their Associations. Building Strategic Alliances in Mongolian Cooperatives.
Beschreibung: The Institute of Organization Development and Group Dynamics (OEGD) is going to commit itself to the management and organization development in Mongolia. In cooperation with the two practice partners, the Mongolian National Cooperative Association (MNCA) and the Mongolian Cooperative Training and Information Center (MCTIC), together with the scientific partner, the National Academy of Governance (NAOG), a cooperative study of interventions for advancement and consolidation of the Mongolian association movement is going to be conducted, between autumn 2013 and winter 2014 (16 month). The study of interventions will consist of a practical part concerning application and learning and a part of transdisciplinary research, which rely on each other - according to the parallel character of intervention. In addition to continuing education and qualification of cooperative leaders, managers and stakeholders, the practical part aims to improve and optimize the existing organizational structures and increase the efficiency of cooperation between the different associations of cooperatives through the establishment of a cooperatively developed strategic network. In this process of change the current social challenges of Mongolia have to be considered and the democratic development of Mongolia shall be subsequently supported with the cooperative implementation of adequate coordination concepts. The development project is supervised scientifically, evaluated, and the practical development of the project is stimulated by theoretical inputs. The intervention study will generate practical effectivity as well as scientific results of the role and criteria of success of the cooperatives. It will show future options of action for the development of the Mongolian society as well. Starting from the key research question "What strategic innovation does it take for the cooperatives to involve themselves strategically and successfully in the development of the Mongolian society and economy?" the appropriate forms of communication shall be developed during the intervention study. Through this work the cooperatives should be enabled to fulfill cooperative strategic capability. The research is therefore aimed at specific organizational development and cooperative-oriented aspects of the development potential of the Mongolian cooperatives as well as at increasing expertise on issues of cooperation and governance development in the context of economic and social challenges in Mongolian. In regard of research policies, the intervention study is not limited to actionable knowledge for the participants and the development of an adequate and useful cooperation and/or network structure within the Mongolian cooperatives, but will also provide conclusions and further options of action for the future improvement of the Mongolian cooperatives as a cooperative system. This way the competences of governance and democratic development shall be strengthened and the necessary expertise shall be provided to the Mongolian scientists to enable them to organize and execute future cooperation and development independently after the current project is finished.
