QIAPro: Development of a software for qualitative content analysis. www.qiapro.com
Description: | In the project QIAPro a robust and easy-to-use, fully functional web application has been developed. The application allows people who have a background in qualitative content analysis (Mayring, 2010) to analyze their text materials (in .txt-format) using the technique of inductive category formation. The current, tested version of the web application is available at www.qiapro.aau.at or www.qiapro.com. Special emphasis was placed on the rule-guided structure of the QIA, which is a unique characteristic among all qualitative data analysis methods in the Social sciences. This unique feature has been fully implemented in the program, so that the user can not arbitrarily jump back and forth between the individual analytical steps as in other programs on the market (e.g. MAXQDA, Atlas TI). Instead he is guided by the program according to the step-models of the QIA. The implementation of the pilot-loops into the program (revision, Inter-coder-agreement) supports a high quality of the analysis results. The output of the program is in CSV format so that it can be imported into popular quantitative analysis programs (e.g. SPSS) in order to perform quantitative analysis steps following the qualitative evaluation - mixed methods approach as a strength of the QIA (Mayring, 2007). |
