Mit MOKA findet die transdisziplinäre Projekt-reihe zum nachhaltigen Krankenhaus (Fabrik der Zukunft, 2004-2010) eine interessante Fortsetzung: In den kommenden zwei Jahren wird in enger Kooperation mit der ärztlichen und pflegerischen Leitung der Respiratory Care Unit (RCU) des Otto Wagner Spitals ein Monitoring-Instrument entwickelt, das ökolo-gische, ökonomische und soziale „Nebenwir-kungen“ der Krankenbehandlung erfassen soll.

Damit gehen wir der unbearbeiteten Frage nach, welche alltagstaugliche (Selbst)-Beobachtung in Stationen für eine Steuerung, die eine nachhaltige Entwicklung unterstützt, erforderlich und möglich ist. Krankenhäuser sollen dazu befähigt werden, einen Beitrag zur Bewältigung der großen, aktuellen Her-ausforderungen der öffentlichen Gesundheits-versorgung und gleichzeitig zu einer nachhal-tigen gesellschaftlichen Entwicklung zu leis-ten.

MOKA - Sustainability-Monitoring for Hospital Units
Description:

MOKA is an interesting follow-up project to the inter- and transdiciplinary project series on sustainable hospitals (BMVIT/Fabrik der Zukunft, FFG 2004-2010). Within the next two years a monitoring tool covering ecological, economic and social „side effects“ of hospital treatment will be developed in close cooperation with the head of the Respiratory Care Unit (RCU) of the Viennes Otto Wagner Hospital. Within the project we address the unexplored question of (self)-observation of hospital units in terms of sustainable management. Hospitals thereby should be empowerd to contribute to major challenges of today´s health care systems and societal sustainable development.
