SCIS - Investigating conceptual characteristics and implementation requirements for supply chain management improvement systems
Description: Overall objective of this project is to create new knowledge on the area of supply chain improvement systems (SCIS) and to disseminate that knowledge to industry and academia and with that boosting the economical competitiveness in the program region. It consists of several sub-objectives: First is to analyze the current state in the area of supply chain improvement systems in order to determine the latest trends in research and in real-life implementations. Second is identification of new research problems that derive from real-life implementations of the supply chain improvement systems. The third is preparation of a conceptual model (principles) and of a management concept which will lead to the realization of the fourth sub-objective: the functional and technological design of an information system for improvement of supply chains and an internet portal for dissemination of project results and forth going and cross-border exchange of related know-how between the industry, academic and research institutions.
