| TEEB - Die Ökonomie der Biosysteme und der Biodiversität | |
| Description: | Das Projekt Ökonomie von Ökosystemen und Biodiversität (TEEB) ist eine große internationale Initiative um Aufmerksamkeit auf den globalen ökonomischen Nutzen der Biodiversität zu lenken und die wachsenden Kosten des Verlustes der Biodiversität und der Degradation von Ökosystemen aufzuzeigen und eine Expertise aus den Feldern der Wissenschaft, Ökonomie und Politik zusammenzutragen um praktische Aktionen zu ermöglichen. Ins Leben gerufen von Deutschland und der Europäischen Union, wird es beabsichtigt Berichte für die verschiedenen Benutzergruppen dieser Richtungen zu erstellen, nämlich für Entscheidungsträger, Geschäftsleute und für die breite Öffentlichkeit. Die TEEB D2 für Entscheidungsträger verschiedener Ebenen wird geleitet vom UFZ (Leipzig, Deutschland) bei welchem das Institut für Soziale Ökologie aktiv mitwirkt und den zweiten Worskhop in Wien im Mai 2009 veranstaltet hat. Simron Jit Singh ist einer der führenden Autoren vom TEEB D2- Report, im Besonderen im Feld des natural resource management und der geschützten Gebiete. |

| Description: | The Economics of Ecosystem and Biodiversity (TEEB) is a major international initiative to draw attention to the global economic benefits of biodiversity, to highlight the growing cost of biodiversity loss and ecosystem degradation and to draw together expertise from the fields of science, economics and policy to enable practical actions. Launched by Germany and the European Union, it aims to produce reports for various user groups in this direction, namely policy makers, the business community and the general public. The TEEB D2 for policy makers across scales is led by UFZ (Leipzig, Germany) to which the Institute of Social Ecology is contributing actively, and hosted its second workshop in Vienna in May 2009. Simron Jit Singh is engaged as one of the authors of the TEEB D2 report, in particular the field of natural resource management and protected areas. |
