Nachhaltiges Krankenhaus: Demonstrationsprojekt
Description: Im Rahmen des ganztägigen Abschluss-Workshops des Projekts "Das nachhaltige Krankenhaus" wurden im April 2008 am Institut für Soziale Ökologie die zentralen Ergebnisse aus den drei Subprojekten (Unternehmenssteuerung, Angebotsplanung, Leistungserbringung) präsentiert. Die 18 TeilnehmerInnen der 5 Projektpartner aus Krankenhauspraxis und Wissenschaft diskutierten Erfahrungen, Schlussfolgerungen zum Nutzen und Möglichkeiten eines "Roll out". Erfahrungen aus dem Projekt und theoretische Überlegungen zum Thema Gesundheitsförderung und Nachhaltigkeit wurden an der 16. Internationalen Health Promoting Hospital Konferenz, 14. -16. Mai 08 in Berlin, in der Keynote Speech "The health promoting and sustainable hospital" von Jürgen Pelikan (LBI für Gesundheitsförderungsforschung) und Elimar Brandt (Immanuel Diakonie Group, Berlin) sowie in Parallel Sessions (Karl Purzner, SMZ Otto Wagner Spital, Wien, Willi Haas und Ulli Weisz, beide IFF für Soziale Ökologie) präsentiert. Die speziellen Einsichten aus dem Projekt wurden auch bereits bei der Tagung der Gesundheits- und Medizinsoziologie im März 08 in Bad Gleichenberg vorgestellt. "Das nachhaltige Krankenhaus. Erprobungsphase" (2006-2008, gefördert durch FFG und BMVIT im Rahmen der Programmlinie "Fabrik der Zukunft") ist eine Kooperation eines interdisziplinären Wissenschaftsteams mit dem Wiener SMZ Otto Wagner Spital, dem Wiener Krankenanstaltenverbund und der Berliner Immanuel Diakonie.

Sustainable Hospital: Proving phase
Description: Health is for sustainable development a prerequisite and at the same an outcome of it. Based on this assumption of strong links between health and sustainable development this project is intervening into a hospital as an example for the health care system for the benefits of both. The feasibility study "The sustainable hospital" (funded by BMVIT "Fabrik der Zukunft") has provided the foundation for the follow-up project "Proving phase of the sustainable hospital" (funded by FFG and BMVIT "Fabrik der Zukunft"). The project goal is to integrate sustainable development criteria into the hospital’s decision making at the normative, strategic und operative levels of management. The project is performed by a cooperation of an interdisciplinary team of researchers, namely the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for the Sociology of Health and Medicine, and Arecon (Austria Recycling & Co. Consulting), together with an Austrian Health Promoting Hospital, Vienna’s Otto-Wagner-Hospital, the Vienna Hospital Association (KAV) and Berlin’s Immanuel Diakonie Group.
