MPEG-21 DIA Metadata Based Adaptation of SVC Streams
Description: ST Microelectronics (STM) and the Dept. of Information Technology (ITEC) of Klagenfurt University will jointly develop, test, and demonstrate the use of MPEG-21 Digital Item Adap-tation (DIA) metadata and concepts for streaming and adapting SVC-encoded video streams. Here, SVC denotes the Scalable Extensions to the H.264/MPEG-4 AVC coding standard that is currently in the final phase of standardization in the Joint Video Team (JVT), a group of experts delegated by the ITU VCEG and ISO/IEC MPEG standardization groups.
