TRANSITIONS
Description: Transitions from an Agrarian to an Industrial Mode of Subsistence - and Beyond: Interaction and Co-Evolution of Social and Natural Systems - There are strong interactions between local, regional and global processes and interdependencies between societies or communities in different stages of the transition processes between agrarian and industrial society. Resource exploitation, division of labour and trade, and externalising environmental burden are code words for this. To identify these interdependencies and to support capacities for intervention towards more equitable and sustainable choices are the most basic goals of the project.
