Title:	Sign Languages and European Written Languages in Virtual Vocational Education for the Deaf (DEAFVOC).
Description:	DEAFVOC is a Leonardo da Vinci language competence project, funded through EU. The aim of the project is to develop language teaching in vocational education of the deaf by utilizing information and communication technology and that way promote equal educational opportunities of the Deaf. In the beginning of the project a survey of the current situation of vocational training of the Deaf in European Union countries will be made. A report of the survey will give information to be used in the project dissemination as well as in informing different stakeholders of the project. During the project, standard model curriculums, "Sign language as a Mother Tongue" and "Written Language as a Second Language for the Deaf" will be created, as well as virtual demo teaching material will be placed in the net. Target groups of the project are teachers and deaf students in basic, further and post-experience vocational education as well as authorities responsible of curriculums and the deaf organizations advocating deaf issues in Europe. All products will be produced in Czech, English, Finnish, German, and Greek. Teaching materials also in national sign languages of each partner country.

Description:	Bei DEAFVOC handelt es sich um ein Leonardo da Vinci Projekt für Sprachkompetenz, das durch die EU finanziert wird. Am Beginn des Projekts wird eine Untersuchung zur aktuellen Situation der Berufsausbildung Gehörloser in den Ländern der Europäischen Union durchgeführt. Während des Projekts werden Standardmodelle von Curricula, "Gebärdensprache als Muttersprache" und "Schriftsprache als Zweitsprache für Gehörlose", erstellt sowie eine virtuelle Demoversion von Unterrichtsmaterialien ins Netz gestellt. Für die als TeilnehmerInnen ausgewählten LehrerInnen wird ein länderübergreifender Kurs organisiert. Während des Kurses lernen diese TeilnehmerInnen aus den Ländern der Projektpartner, wie sie Curricula und Unterrichtsmaterialien sowie die Handbücher für LehrerInnen, die während des Projekts produziert werden, verwenden. Alle Produkte entstehen auf Tschechisch, Englisch, Finnisch, Deutsch und Griechisch. Die Unterrichtsmaterialien auch in den nationalen Gebärdensprachen aller Partnerländer. Die Zielgruppen des Projekts sind LehrerInnen und gehörlose StudentenInnen in der Berufsaus- und -weiterbildung sowie EntscheidungsträgerInnen für Curricula und Gehörlosenorganisationen, welche für Angelegenheiten der Gehörlosen in Europa eintreten.
